Как работает VPN простыми словами

Например, поверх интернета. Виртуальная — значит, созданная лишь программными средствами, а частная — то есть запущенная для одного пользователя. Таким образом, ВПН представляет собой технологию, при которой силой программного обеспечения между гаджетом (компьютером, смартфоном и т. д.) пользователя и общественной сетью устанавливается дополнительное соединение, закрытое от просмотра другими участниками этой сети. Рассмотрим процесс VPN-туннелирования поэтапно. Поскольку ВПН являет собой туннель, у него есть входная и выходная точки. С одной стороны находится клиент, а с другой — сервер. ВПН-клиент — это программа, которая запущена на пользовательском устройстве: приложение в телефоне или планшете, расширение в веб-браузере на ПК и т. д. Этот клиент перехватывает все данные, отправляемые в интернет (включая логины, пароли, банковские реквизиты и любые другие запросы), и кодирует их при помощи встроенных функций шифрования. В отличие от использования обычного соединения, когда запрос сразу отправляется на server, обслуживающий конкретный ресурс, VPN сначала обрабатывает ваш запрос на своем удаленном компьютере. ВПН-сервер принимает от клиента информацию, дешифрует ее и после этого перенаправляет в общественную сеть, т. е. делает тот же запрос, но от своего имени. В итоге запрос достигает конечного адресата — машины, которая хранит нужный вам веб-сайт, — та видит IP-адрес VPN-сервера и без проблем отвечает. Получив ответ, сервер ВПН его шифрует и отправляет обратно клиенту. Тот производит дешифровку, и вы видите результат запроса на своем экране.

Что быстрее прокси или впн. Особенности подключения через прокси.

Прокси — дополнительный сервер, который служит посредником между вашим устройством и сервером сайта, к которому вы подключаетесь. В отличии от VPN, вы не подключаетесь к сети, а пропускаете ваше интернет соединение через прокси сервер. При этом IP адрес и местоположение подменяется данными прокси сервера. Но, в отличии от VPN. пользователь использует индивидуальный IP адрес прокси, а не IP адрес целой сети. Поэтому прокси используются как для сохранения анонимности и обхода блокировок сайтов, так и для работы с мультиаккаунтами и программами, поскольку каждый прокси имеет свой индивидуальный IP, что обезопасит ваши аккаунты от бана.

Для прокси не потребуется использование специализированных программ и приложений, поскольку подключение через прокси предусмотрена в самой ОС, программе или браузере. Для доступа необходим только IP адрес прокси, порт, а также логин и пароль, если используется аутентификация. Также степень анонимности прокси напрямую зависит от типа вашего подключения к прокси. Оно может быть не анонимным, анонимным и даже зашифрованным, если используется соответствующий протокол.

Помимо этого, подключение через прокси быстрее и стабильней, чем подключение через VPN, поскольку прокси, предназначены для индивидуального использования. Прокси стоят дешевле, чем VPN, да и при приобретении доступен выбор необходимого типа подключения, чтобы приспособить прокси под индивидуальные потребности каждого пользователя.

1. В условиях реальной сети с потерями практическая скорость прокси зачастую выше, чем у VPN-решений. Это вызвано тем, что при проксировании TCP-соединений ретрансмиты на участках клиент-прокси и прокси-целевой узел происходят независимо. Прокси имеет свои TCP-буферы и кратковременные задержки ввода-вывода в обе стороны не сказываются на передаче с противоположной стороны. VPN же работает только на сетевом уровне (IP) и потерянные сегменты TCP будут пересылаться по всей длине пути от VPN-клиента до целевого сервера.
2. Гибкость. Проще настроить избирательное проксирование. Использование прокси можно ограничить конкретными приложениями, в браузере — конкретными доменами. Можно использовать несколько разных прокси для разных адресов назначения одновременно.
3. Трудно обнаружить с помощью DPI, в том числе DPI осуществляющими активные пробы. Однако, для этого необходима некоторая донастройка. В случае с прокси через TLS, такое соединение можно выдать за обычное HTTPS-соединение. В случае с VPN факт его использования виден даже пассивному DPI. Даже если это Wireguard.
4. Нет целого класса проблем с внезапно прервавшимся VPN-соединением. В худшем сценарии VPN-соединение может прерваться и пользователь не заметит, что его трафик уже не защищён и/или он уже работает со своего «домашнего» IP-адреса. В случае с прокси такие проблемы исключены.
5. Нет принципиальной возможности проводить атаки, пускающие трафик мимо VPN-туннеля. Пример такой проблемы .
6. Не нужны высокие привилегии в системе ни для клиента прокси, ни для сервера. Это может быть весьма полезно в случаях, когда у Вас нет высоких прав в системе.

2. Tweak proxy settings in Firefox

1. Get a VPN browser addon for Firefox using PIA ).
