News about Amazon from CES 2022. Awesome gadgets from CES 2022
The Consumer Technology Association’s CES moved back to its Las Vegas venue in 2022, after a brief hiatus from in-person shows last year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
However, the tech conference will end one day early this year due to the current Omicron infection surge.
While the usual keynote addresses and product announcements were featured at the conference, many attend the show to see the coolest gadgets.
Below are ten of the most interesting gadgets and innovations that were exhibited at CES 2022.
Adibot-A
Adibot-A is an autonomous UV-C disinfection solution that can be mapped to independently navigate one or multiple floor plans to disinfect against harmful pathogens, bacteria, and viruses — including Covid-19.
The disinfection solution features automatic recharging and intelligent safety systems, including the use of “risk mitigation” cameras, PIR sensors.
Samsung Odyssey Ark
Samsung describes the Odyssey Ark as its “next-generation gaming screen”. It features a 1,000R curved design, and the 55-inch screen can be set horizontally or vertically.
The display has a “multi-view” feature that uses an adaptable screen size for watching movies, playing games, and multi-tasking.
The monitor comes with a wireless dial controller to manage lighting and the interface.
SberBox Top
SberBox has incorporated a 120-degree AI camera and 6 microphones into its latest media streaming box.
These features make the SberBox Top suitable for voice, face and gesture recognition, video calls, and AR apps, the company said.
BMW iX Flow with E Ink
BMW unveiled its iX Flow system with E Ink which offers a unique technology that allows owners “to adapt the exterior of a vehicle to different situations and individual wishes”.
The exterior of the BMW iX Flow featuring E Ink can vary its colour between white, grey, and black.
Colour changes are made possible by a body wrap, precisely tailored to the shape of the all-electric Sports Activity Vehicle. When stimulated by electrical signals, the electrophoretic technology pulls different colour pigments to the surface.
Gameboard
Gameboard is a tabletop gaming system that aims to integrate the tactile and in-person experience of physical games with digital content and online communities.
Players can link their Gameboard with their mobile device to hide digital playing cards, throw digital dice, manage RPG character sheets, and link up with other players.

Amazon CES Matter. Amazon releases Matter tools and features for developers at CES 2022
We're poised for a redesign of smart home architecture in 2022 with the debut of Matter . As Amazon defines it, Matter is "a home automation connectivity standard that allows smart home devices to work with each other across different smart home systems." As CES 2022 opens Wednesday, Amazon announced some feature support for developers and device-makers looking to create products compatible with Matter.
We're eager to see how Matter changes the way smart home devices from different brands communicate with each other. So far, it looks like Amazon is fully onboard. Here's a roundup of what the company announced for developers and device-makers.
Frustration Free Setup
Amazon launched Frustration Free Setup in 2018. It's a feature that makes getting your smart home devices up and running a quick, streamlined experience. You take the device out of the box, power it on and the device automatically connects to your network. It's already available on a majority of Amazon-branded devices like Echo speakers , Fire TVs and Eero routers, as well as dozens of other brands sold on Amazon.com.
When Amazon discussed Matter at Alexa Live last year, it promised to bring this feature to Matter-compatible devices. Today, Amazon announced that the documentation device-makers need to make this happen is now available. Its blog post also notes that brands including Sengled , TP-Link and Lifx are working with Amazon to make the most of Matter and Frustration Free Setup.
Amazon says developers can review the Frustration Free Setup documentation, onboard their devices and integrate manufacturing for Matter Wi-Fi devices now. Products that use Thread , a separate protocol that allows low-power mesh connections between devices, will follow later in 2022.
Alexa as an admin
The Matter protocol includes a multiple administrator feature that allows Matter devices to be controlled by multiple smart home systems. That's the key idea behind the Matter concept. In theory, a customer will be able to control one device in a variety of ways, including with different smart home platforms and voice assistants.
Today, Amazon announced what it calls "Commissionable Endpoint Alexa" capability. That's a key part of setting up Alexa to control other devices across platforms and systems. Essentially, it allows Alexa to be added as a Matter Administrator for a device that's already set up. It also sets up the device to use Alexa either via the cloud skill or via a local network through Matter. This helps devices function even when there's a connectivity issue. Amazon's blog post notes that brands like Philips Hue and Resideo will provide this support for customers with their Matter-enabled devices.
CES 2022 car audio. Warwick Acoustics угрожает рынку car audio

The tech giant Amazon choose this site in Cape Town to build its African headquarters Image caption: The tech giant Amazon choose this site in Cape Town to build its African headquarters
There has been a mixed reaction among representatives of South Africa's Khoi and San communities after a Cape Town court halted construction of Amazon’s new African headquarters on what some consider sacred land.
Tariq Jenkins from the group which brought the court application welcomed the order and said it would stop the project from proceeding.
“Our heritage is not for sale,” he said.
However, the First Nations Collective which backs the project, said it would urgently appeal against the judgement.
Referring to the cultural facilities included in the development plans, it said it wanted the court “to return all of this province and South Africa to sanity, namely that the Khoi and San people have every right to return to the areas from which their ancestors have been dispossessed”.
In an interdict pending a final review, Western Cape deputy judge president Patricia Goliath stopped all further construction pending the “conclusion of meaningful engagement and consultation with all affected First Nations Peoples” as well as the conclusion of a full court review of the permission to build.
The 4.6bn rand (£235m; $310m) development has divided Cape Town’s first-people communities, with different groups on opposite sides of the court battle.
The application to stop the construction was brought by the Goringhaicona Khoi Khoin Indigenous Traditional Council (GKKITC) and a local civic group, while a separate Khoi and San group, the First Nations Collective (FNC), supported the development.
The 14-hectare development site is situated on an ecologically sensitive and historically significant flood plain.
Tech giant Amazon is the anchor tenant in the multi-use development which will include retail, hospitality, residential and office space. Construction started in June 2021 and has cost 500m rand so far.

CES 2022 Smart Home. The Best Smart Home Devices from CES 2022
It may have been a smaller CES this year due to the ongoing and evolving coronavirus pandemic, but that didn't stop developers from going big on innovation. The annual affair is a smorgasbord of high-tech gadgetry—some conceptual, some on their way to market—and 2022 was no different.
And as happens each year at the convention, smart-home products take center stage, giving us a glimpse of what the home of the future may look like.
Here are the in-home, intelligent devices that caught our eye.
Kohler PerfectFill Bathtubs
Kohler
Once merely a CES concept, Kohler is finally ready to roll out its PerfectFill bathtubs. As you might have guessed these are tubs built to alleviate the worst part of the bathing experience—waiting for the basin to fill at the appropriate temperature. PerfectFill technology allows users to dictate—yes, you can speak the command to your tub—your ideal temperature and depth, and the Kohler bath will begin filling, alerting you when the ideal settings have been achieved. For owners who feel awkward talking to appliances, the same features, and additional monitoring, will be available via the Kohler app. Getting out of bed on a cold morning may be more acceptable if you knew you could slip right into a warm bath.
Kohler PerfectFill Bathtubs will be available in May 2022 and costs $2,700.
Toucan Video Conference System HD
Toucan
As the ongoing pandemic has made work from home the new norm, video conferencing has grown in importance, and for workers who are looking—finally—for a decent setup, Toucan is coming to the rescue. The Toucan Video Conference System HD is a desktop smart speaker with removable 1080P camera attachment that allows users to present themselves in professional quality video and audio, wherever they may have set up to work in the home that day. The Toucan System features four built-in echo-canceling microphones and a camera with an 89-degree field of view, allowing for multiple, socially distanced, parties to be captured on screen. Toucan makes connecting to your computer a breeze, with a simple plug-and-play interface, as well as the option to connect the speaker via Bluetooth, or the removable camera via USB, if you'd like to try out some different angles. And while Toucan can't do anything about the piles of laundry or screaming children in your background, it can ensure that they are faithfully rendered to all your co-workers.
Pricing and release date for the Toucan Video Conference System HD have yet to be announced.
CES 2022 automotive. [Video] CES 2022: Showcasing the Future of In-Vehicle Experiences
At CES 2022, Samsung Electronics is introducing a new vision for in-vehicle experiences. This new concept was made possible by combining the company’s latest consumer electronics and IT innovations with HARMAN’s automotive expertise.
The video below introduces viewers to Samsung’s booth at CES 2022. At the booth, the company showcases a scenario in which information on road conditions and other factors is presented to the driver of a vehicle in real time.
In the scenario, the vehicle uses cameras and sensors to analyze its surroundings, then harnesses augmented reality to present road conditions and other information to the driver within their field of view. The driver is then able to make use of that overlaid information to ensure they enjoy a drive that is both convenient and safe.
In the enactment, the driver not only gets details on the vehicle’s speed and status, but is also provided with an arrow-based navigation service, forward collision warning icons and blind spot alerts when switching lanes. Directions, icons and insights are projected directly onto the road, as well as onto surrounding vehicles and lanes, to allow the driver to clearly and conveniently view the important information.
The vehicle in the scenario also analyzes information on the surrounding area and connects to a range of services to make the driving experience both straightforward and enjoyable. For example, if passengers want to grab a coffee, the vehicle utilizes map information and AR to inform them of where there are cafés nearby. The passenger is then given the option to navigate through the menu and place their order from the comfort of their car. The vehicle in the enactment also adds a realistic element to virtual calls by allowing users to manage their meetings with AR.
Check out the video below to learn more about what the future of in-vehicle experiences holds.
